By Chaitanya Padukone– Both co-producers Sanjay Dutt and his dignified wife Manyata seemed euphoric at the trailer launch event of their maiden Marathi movie ‘Baba’. As is known, Sunjay Dutt in real-life is popularly referred to as ‘Baba’ . Explains Sanjay, “Its sheer coincidence that the film title is ‘Baba’ and out here it means ‘father’ . In fact I have dedicated this content-driven,meaningful movie to my ‘late’ actor-director-father ( Sunil Dutt.) It’s a gut-wrenching yet emotionally entertaining story of a poor couple staying far away from a bustling village. Although their world is ‘silent’ yet they are very happy and content. They have an eight-year-old adorable son who also does not speak.. One day a wealthy, influential couple comes to their home to snatch and take the boy away from them. Local police intervenes and advises them to seek legal claim through the court if they so believe. Does a father’s genuine love succeed in eventually retaining his beloved child is what the film is mainly about”. The Marathi venture, directed by Raj Gupta has the super-talented Deepak Dobriyal, Nandita Dhuri, Abhijeet Khandkekar, Spruha Joshi, in its lead star cast. The film ‘Baba’ is slated to release on August 2 which is just three days after the macho Dutt’s 60th birthday ( July 29th) Director, Raj Gupta reacted “I truly believe emotions have no language and this has been beautifully conveyed by the actors using non-technical homely sign-language in the film. It is a bittersweet tale of how a family strives to stay together despite all odds” Talking about his character in the film, Deepak Dobriyal said “this is my new journey in Marathi cinema. I have been working in Bollywood since last twelve years but never got an opportunity to portray such a strong character. It was a wonderful experience and this film will always remain close to my heart” While speaking on his debut venture in Marathi cinema, Sanjay Dutt said ” I loved the film content and since long I was planning to produce a Marathi film . I am a Maharashtrian because I was born and brought up in Maharashtra,” signs off Sanjay
